Getting there is our problem

Skyworks pulls hundreds of thousands to the Swan River foreshore every 26 January — 35,000 at Langley Park alone — and the city responds with a road-closure ring that locks down the CBD grid from the afternoon. Getting in is manageable; getting out at 9:30pm with the entire foreshore leaving at once is the hard part.

PerthRide plans Skyworks transfers around the closure map: drop-off at the ring's edge in the afternoon or early evening, and a pre-booked pickup at an agreed corner outside the closures after the finale — a fixed fare that doesn't care that every app in the city is surging.

Road closures

The CBD closure ring starts mid-afternoon — pickup points are agreed outside it, a short walk from the foreshore.

The 9:30pm exodus

The whole crowd leaves after the finale; a pre-positioned driver at a named corner beats any on-demand option.

Family logistics

People movers take the picnic rig — chairs, eskies, prams — that the train home can't.

Australia Day Skyworks, answered

Where do you pick up after Skyworks?

Pickup is at a pre-agreed corner just outside the road-closure ring — confirmed with your booking once the City of Perth publishes the year's closure map, typically a five-to-ten-minute walk from the foreshore.
